Mahatmas - New Bhaktacharitras Each Month India
is the holy land with so many bhaktas (devotees). When we go through the Indian
history, there must be a bhakta in every period. That is the greatness of this
sacred land. Bhaktas are the role model for all the bonded souls. They enjoy
their life in a perfect way. Bhaktas surrender themselves to the Lotus feet of
Lord. By hearing or reading bhaktas' divine story, the bonded soul is
enlightened to come out of the worldwide bondages. Radhekrishna!
Sincere chanting and listening to the great stories of devotees will surely give
a peace of mind to everybody, even in this 21st century. So many people think
that listening to the devotee's stories is a waste of time and there is no
benefit at all. If somebody wants to realize the power of bagawan, first of all
they must listen bhaktha charithram [stories of devotees]. There are so many
advantages in listening to baktha charithram.
Bharath is a very special land and contained within it are sacred places and rivers. Devotees born in this sacred Bharath ensure that they propagate bhakti in all corners of the country. This is the precise reason why the fragrance of bhakti can be felt all around our country.
Guruji amma has a special reverence for Meera and in the coming issues, we will enjoy Meera's bhakthi and devoution
RadheKrishna
Meera cries in joy onhearing that Giridhari likes her heart and indicates that it is due to His blessings. she also says that it does not matter how her heart is and it is enough if Giridhari likes it. Rana asks Meera about the temple he had built and Meera replies that Giridhari has built it the way He wanted it to be. Oodha hears this and asks Rana that even if the Lord is there , Rana's efforts were there in building the temple and is being ignored by Meera. So if someone asks whether we are doing bhakthi we should say that we are trying to do and move forward. There is no need to prove anything to anyone. Prahalatha did not try to demonstrate his bhakthi at any point but the Lord took care of him.
Rana thought about Oodhas comments and concludes that although Meera is a good devotee she has a sense of pride and ego within herself. Nobody has the right to pass any comments about any devotees. Please don't listen to the comments made about bhakthas and if so dont speak about them and if you speak, you should be prepared to cut your tongues. Meera is constanly engaged in bhajans in the temple and rarely is seen outside. Common people also wanted to join and pray in the temple. Soon old people , children and women were allowed to enter the temple and Meera was happy to see everyone doing bhakthi.
Rana was feeling jealous as more time was being spent by Meera with the devotees. Meera is constantly engaged in chanting Giridhari and does this without much care about herself, family or anyother thing. She even describes the beauty of Giridhari in the conversations with Rana but unfortunately Rana does not appreciate these. Bhagawadham will only be absorbing if we listen with enjoyment.
As time passes King Akbhar comes to know of Meera's songs through his court singer Tansen. Once Akbhar was very moved by Tansen's rendering that tears started flowing in his eyes. Akbar call him and says that he was moved by the song and felt like a Gopi who was longing for the Lord. Akbar wants to know the composer and Tansen indicates that it was Meera who had done it. This prompted Akbar to meet Meera in person as he was moved by the song. Tansen says that would be difficult as Meera was the wife of his enemy Kumbhaji Rana. But Akbhar was determined to meet Meera.

Perumal Thirumozhi was as a result of Kulasekara azhwar longing to see and enjoy Lord Ranganatha. The Thirumozhi also results from the
bhakthi of the azhwar towards Rama and Krishna and he begins with his longing for Lord Ranganatha. Everyone of us have so much of longing
for the worldly affairs but the longing and the love for the lord alone will help us achieve a good state.
Kulasekara azhwar enjoys Lord Ranganatha as Adisheshan in the first two pasurams or songs. Then he enjoys the Lord as enjoyed by Brahma. But the way Gopis enjoyed the Lord is considered to be supreme. This is because the not so intelligent Gopis were fully aware of the strengths of the Lord and believed that Krishna would save them. Of all the avataras, Krishna avatar is considered to be the best and one that can easily be enjoyed.
Lord Krishna after killing Kesi looks at all the worlds and gave an enchanting smile. Even in bagawatham, there is only a reference to the kesi's death and sage Naradha arrives soon after. But Kulasekar azhwar enjoys it in his stride and is absorbed by the smile of Krishna's victory. Azhwar also describes that the Lord is sea blue in colour but his His personal Lord. Although the Lord is all powerful the azhwar enjoys as his own and this is the way the Lord comes down and allows himself to be enjoyed.
Gopars of brindavan would alway refer to Krishna as their friend and then only as the son of Yasodha or Nandagopa. To that extent they had an intimate relationship with the Lord. Kulasekara azhwar is enjoying all the Krishna leelas bit by bit. Krishna lifts the mountain Govardhana Giri just before killing the demon Kesi. Usually the bhakthas would enjoy in the order that shows up as their experiences. In this instance the azhwar enjoys the killing of Kesi before the lifting of the mountain by the Lord. Swami Periyawachan pillai narrates the experiences beautifully and without his explanations these verses would have not attained any significance.
Rain that was generated by Indira was falling as if pillars are falling and not that of the tiny rain drops. Krishna was searching for a big mountain that could withstand these pillar like rain drops and provide shelter. Krishna could have done this without lifting the mountain but He wanted to prove the sanctity of the mountain. It is during Ramayana days that Aancheneya was bringing the mountain to build the bridge to Lanka. But Rama instructed everyone that the bridge has been built and that everyone can drop what they have been carrying. The mountain was very sad and Aanchenaya conveyed this to Lord Rama. Rama indicated that he will shower his blessing but only during his next incarnation as Krishna.
The holy mountain Govadhardana Giri was waiting a whole yuga for the Lord to come and bless him and this is the secret. Guru Aanchenya indicated that the Lord would come and see him and the mountain believed and waited. We should also have the same faith in Guru and do what He requests us to do with faith. To indicate an example if someone is hungry and we invite the person to have meals, if the guest begins to suspect of food poisoning then his/her hunger wont be satisfied. Only those who are blessed by a sadguru is able to bear anything and
no one else can bear it

Samarpanam parithraanaaya sadhoonaam vinasaya cha dhushkrutham dharma sansthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge
Bhagawan takes avatar in each and every yuga mainly to safeguard the bhaktas and then to destroy the rakshasaas who trouble his bhaktas. So Bhagawan comes to this bhoomi from paramapadham just for the sake of his bhaktas. Hence we come to know that bhaktas are very important to the Lord. Whenever Bhagawan comes to rescue his bhaktas, the other fellow people also reap the benefits.........Our guruji amma gives high respect to all the bhaktas. Hence our Vedhanaadham's every issue will be dedicated to one bhakta. This issue we are dedicating to
the one of the great eternal devotees of the Lord namely - 'Sage Vashistar'![]() |
