Humans should have unconditional faith on the Lord and the absence of it alone creates fear, confusion and the lack of belief in god. We must try to develop that unconditional faith and that is what Kulasekara azhwar proclaims in his ten verses. The azhwars starts his verse by declaring that the Lord should save him from all his troubles as He alone knows the source. The azhwar also asserts that despite His powers even if the Lord decide not to salvage him from troubles, he will never be able to run away from Him. If the child falls down then it is the responsibility of its mother to cuddle and bring the child to normalcy. If the mother decides to watch the whole episode, then also the child will come running towards the mother but never it will think of going to its neighbour's house. Similarly the azhwar concludes that he will run towards the Lord as He alone has the necessary strength to help him recover from his troubles.

People are leading a selfish life that makes them necessary to take care of their needs to sustain a living. The Lord is the only one who is leading a selfless life and hence He can take care of all the beings on this earth. The azhwar requests the Lord to take care of himself as he takes care of the rest of the life on this planet. But even if the Lord decides not to pay attention to the azhwar's plea, the azhwar has made a stubborn decision to not to let go of the Lord. The azhwars says that his mind, despite the rejection, will revolve around the Lord, meditating on His divine feet.

If a nation undergoes a bad patch and is suffering, the people would stay put with the hope that things would change for the better. Similarly the azhwar is also hoping that the Lord will save him even if he rejects him upfront. Vithuvakottu is a town that is brimming with fragrant flowers and the azhwar is clinging on to the Lord of Vittuvakottu. If a child becomes unbearable in his/her pranks then the mother would give a few slaps and push the kid a bit as an outlet for her vexations. Despite the push the child will only come running towards his/her mother. Even if the child decides to take refuge in father's lap the constant cry for the mother to console the child will be there. Even if the child is consoled by everyone and unless the mother comes and cuddles the child with a note to behave properly in future, the child will never get satisfied. The azhwar uses this example of the child's behaviour and declares that he is attached to the Lord as a child to its mother.

A mother will undergo strict regimen during pregnancy to ensure that the child will have a normal growth in her womb. Also during the early days after birth when she is feeding the baby,she would ensure that her diet does not upset the baby. She would also go to the extent of taking medication to ensure free flow of milk for the newborn child. Hence the mother has great attachment , love and demonstrate anger as well.If the child is exceeding its limit in his/her behaviour, the mother would utmost give a few slaps or reprimand the child verbally. Despite the verbal censure or a few slaps, the child will still be attached to its mother and the azhwar uses it to show his relationship to the Lord.

When the Lord was visiting the forest (Dhandakaranyam during Rama's time) He came across many ascetics who were physically handicapped in one way or the other. The handicap was not a birth defect but due to some incidents later on in their lives. When the Lord enquires about it , the sages said that the rakshasas were giving them trouble and it is them who had left them devoid of the missing body parts. The Lord questions the sages that they could have easily destroyed the demons using their acquired powers. The sages reply that there is no need to take care of themselves. They are like new born babies who need attention for their day to day tasks including feeding and cleaning of their bodies. They further add that their duty stops with engaging in constant devotion towards the Lord and it is the Lords responsibility and duty to protect His children.

If we have ten rupees or a piece of gold , we have to protect the asset and the asset itself wont take any initiative. Just like the asset which leaves the ownership to the possessor, the sages had left the act of protecting them to the Lord. Hence they declare that it is the Lord's responsibility and duty to protect them from the demons and they need not worry about it. The Lord enquires them whether they had waited so long for Him to come? The sages were positive that the Lord will turn up one day and never had even an element of doubt as the Lord knows everything. The sages concluded that their bhakthi increased with every atrocity and declared to Rama that they have every confidence that He will save them. It is for this the Lord stood alone and destroyed all the demons and this episode is well documented in Srimad Ramayanam.

Hence we should not brood over losses and to never lose the Lord for anything. We can lose everything for the sake of gaining the Lord and there can never be any loss for anyone who is willing to go towards the Lord. Even if it is seemingly leading to a loss, the loss will be a gain as experienced later on. To be exact we must lead a life like Bheeshma and we will see that in our next episode
