We never have any thoughts about the Lord whilst we have money and are in our pink of our health. If we suffer a little dip in our health then we begin to question the activities of the Lord. We complain that Krishna is treating us badly and want Him to end our lives. Well, what is that we have done to the Lord till then to ask Him a favour? It is by the Lord's wish that the raw rice gets cooked and we never care to think about the Lord in those circumstances. Ladies boast that their husbands earn a handsome figure and they managed to run the family and save a lot in the process. Husbands boast of their intelligent wives or they complain that they don't have peace due to their spouses. Life is moving on only on these lines.Have we ever thanked the Lord for giving us this good health and allowing us to enjoy the pleasures of life? Have we ever thought that due to Krishna's grace that we managed to digest the food for the day? But if a day comes when we are unable to digest our food we begin to complain that the Lord is troubling us? When has the Lord troubled us? It is that the humans that self inflict all these troubles on themselves.
Just try to observe that has anyone who is young and has all the wealth, thanked the Lord for keeping him/her happy? But if the health suffers or if the kids speak ill about us then we begin to question the activities of the Lord and think that He is the cause of all our troubles. What have we done to the Lord while in our cheerful days to even ask such a question? If we had bhakthi in our earlier years then we would realize whether the Lord is troubling us or is protecting us.If we clean our houses daily and wash our dishes regularly only they will be clean and tidy. Even if we are to take food we need to do lot of prior preparations before we can enjoy the meal. In such a manner we should do those preparations in our younger days but that is absent in humans. Alright that we have missed the younger days but if people like me indicate that humans should adopt one Lord and one nama (name) then they begin to question us. They declare that all the gods can be worshiped and there is nothing wrong in the process. But at least if they begin to follow what they proclaim at least then it is acceptable but even that is not happening.

Mahatmas - New Bhaktacharitras Each Month India
is the holy land with so many bhaktas (devotees). When we go through the Indian
history, there must be a bhakta in every period. That is the greatness of this
sacred land. Bhaktas are the role model for all the bonded souls. They enjoy
their life in a perfect way. Bhaktas surrender themselves to the Lotus feet of
Lord. By hearing or reading bhaktas' divine story, the bonded soul is
enlightened to come out of the worldwide bondages. Radhekrishna!
Sincere chanting and listening to the great stories of devotees will surely give
a peace of mind to everybody, even in this 21st century. So many people think
that listening to the devotee's stories is a waste of time and there is no
benefit at all. If somebody wants to realize the power of bagawan, first of all
they must listen bhaktha charithram [stories of devotees]. There are so many
advantages in listening to baktha charithram.
Bharath is a very special land and contained within it are sacred places and rivers. Devotees born in this sacred Bharath ensure that they propagate bhakti in all corners of the country. This is the precise reason why the fragrance of bhakti can be felt all around our country. Thirumangai Azhwar was visiting all the sacred places around this country. Whilst on pilgrimage around the country he visited the sacred town of Srirangam.
"vimaanam

Tirumangai Azhwar had an intense desire to devote his life in service of the Lord. For this sake the azhwar was prepared to cross all
limits. He removed the buddha's statue from Nagapatinam and proceeds towards Srirangam. Even in Thirukannankudi, the azhwar
declares that the farm land belongs to him and wins the case. Even today in that town, no cases are settled that easily as matter of tradition. As a result of not providing
drinking water to the azhwar, the town, even today, is left with salt water which nobody is able to use it for drinking purposes. The only source of
water is the well inside the temple in Thirukannankudi. The Lord , the bhaktha and his bhakthi is always special and the azhwar's bhakthi stands
out.
The court asks the azhwar to show his credentials as proof of ownership of the farmland. So the azhwar begins his journey towards Srirangam
along with the statue . The azhwar had no thoughts except on meditating on the Lord. He had that urge to complete the undertaken task for the
sake of the Lord. If we decide to do all the tasks as the Lord's own order then we can surely see a change in the way we work and will bring
about a change in life as well.
While the azhwar was on his way back to Srirangam, the buddhists who were chasing him caught up with him and requested the azhwar to
handover the statue. The azhwar hands over in writing that on such a such date and time he would handover the
statue with the little finger being in tact. The Buddhists were happy with deal and decide to come at the appointed date to collect the statue. On the appointed day they returned to collect the statue back. The
azhwar asks the buddhists as to whom they were. They show the signed letter that the azhwar had given them indicating that they would return the
statue. The azhwar then hands over a small box and requests them to open it. The
buddhists were terrified on opening it as they found only the
little finger of Buddha's statue. When questioned about this the azhwar requests them to read the letter in which he had stated that he would return
the statue. The buddhists could not do anything as the Lord was on the azhwar's side and more over buddha himself told his followers that he was
happy that his statue was made use of in service of the Lord.
The azhwar used the proceeds from the statue to start work on building the temple walls. The walls stand even today in Srirangam. While building
the walls, Thondaradipodi azhwar's flower garden had crossed the path of these walls. There was a choice to be made as to whether run through
the garden or take the wall around these gardens. Since Lord Ranganatha himself was pleased with the flower offering from the garden ,
Tirumangai azhwar decides to take the wall round the gardens. Thondaradipodi azhwar was so pleased with Tirumangai azhwar's action that he
decided to name the tool that is used to remove weeds in the garden as "Arun Maari' in honour of Tirumangai azhwar. Whether these azhwars
belonged to the same period and whether they had met is all left to historians to research. But what is fact is that the azhwar had built the walls
without destroying the gardens. Because the Lord is pleased only when his bhaktas are pleased, Tirumangai azhwar had decided to leave the
garden untouched. The rest of the work of Tirumangai azhwar will be continued in future issues.
To be continued.... RadheKrishna

Krishnam Vande Jagadhgurum - Extracts From The Holy Bhagawath Geetha
Radhekrishna.Hinduism
is an ancient religion. All the things that have been spoken in
Hindu religion can be applied in practical life. Although in 21st century till
everyone can apply this in his or her daily life. The aim of Hindu religion is
to provide total happiness to everyone at all times (or any point of time). The
essence of Hinduism is told in "Bhagawad Gita". In order to realize
what is said in Bhagawad Gita it is a compulsory (must) to have an unconditional
faith on Bhagawad Gita. So many people have benefited in their lives because of
the (by reading) shlokas of Bhagawad Gita. In Bhagawad Gita, Bhagawan Shri
Krishna has told the way to lead a happy life in such an easy way that even a
normal layman can easily understand. The slokas are so simple that anyone can
understand and use it practically.

Radhekrishna
No one can hang around without doing one's karma. Even air does the karma of blowing through the earth. Earth does the karma of rotation and
bearing its living beings. Sun does its karma of emanating light. Sea does the karma of holding on the mass of water contained in it and clouds
do the karma of pouring rain. Trees and plants grow, shed their leaves, allows flowers to blossom and produces fruits which are considered to be
its karma. Karma is common to everyone and even Yama has to do his karma. Even Brahma is not exempted and he has to create the beings.
Shiva has to take care of destruction and Indra has to do what his karmas are. There is no one in this world without karma and even though Lord is
above all karmas, He is still doing some karma.Karma is here to stay. Even in Srimad Bagawadam, Kapila explains to Devahuthi that the earth
rotates, the air blows and the sea holds water out of fear of Him and establishes that the Lord is the epicenter of all the karmas. We must perform
our karma or duties but should give up the fruits of it to the Lord. Humans alone can do this because they are alone capable of thinking. If a lion
kills a deer , it does out its hunger and beyond that it wont go the extent of offering the food to the Lord. If they copulate they do so out of physical
discomfort where as humans can do this activity as an offering or Yajna. It is a very special dharma to dedicate all the fruits of the activities
performed using the human body. These karmas have to done as it is our dharma and nobody can disown them. It is the duty of the mother to
bear the child in the womb and that of the parents to nurture the kid once it comes out of the womb. It is the child's dharma or duty to take care of
parents when they become old. When karma is performed as a dharma it attains special significance.
We must perform karma but not expect any fruits and yes it is possible to remain that way. If we pluck some flowers out of a jasmine plan then it
would not change its nature. It will not complain about this activity and stop to blossom further. A mango that becomes ripe gets detached from the
tree and there is no longer an association between the fruit and the tree. If a girl child gets married then her association with her parents is very
meager. If we sell our house in the village then we can only say that it used to be mine and cant claim any rights over it . Similarly we are only
attached for namesake to our native villages as a results of our forefather's association. We have no further connection to the town but yet retain
the identity of being from that place. Likewise we should perform karma in such a way that there is only namesake association and should not be
taken to heart. The heart should only be filled with bhaji and the mercy of the Lord. We mush do karma for the Lord and dedicate the fruits to
Him as well. Karma done out of mind, body , senses and as a result of coming in contact with the world should all be dedicated to the Lord. Can
we dedicate all the fruits of the activities? The answer is yes and in the past many mahatmas have done so and everybody can do it. We should
do our karma with utmost care and dedication as Lord's will. There is more to be said about this and we will see that in subsequent months.

Explanation
RadheKrishna RadheKrishna.. It is sufficient if we attain the state of bhakti as that of Kulasekara azhwar. Bhakti means mingling ourselves mentally with the Lord. We often question whether it is possible to do bhakti at all times and in all circumstances. These songs in praise of Tirumala stand as a testimony that it is possible to enojy bhakti at all times. It is possible to do bhakti whilst being a stone, a passage, a fish , a bird or a useless tree. Many people repent that they have not acheived or attained anything in life. But according to Kulasekara azhwar doing bhakti is foremost among all. In general when mahatmas conclude a work describe the benefits that one can derive out of them. Similarly Kulasekara azhwar sings these 10 songs on the sanctity of Tirumala and describes the benefits of us reading these songs. What is the happiness if someone eats, or sleeps well? Inorder that these work be not classified in that category, the Lord through bhaktas proclaim the benefits of reading these holy works. After every major work the azhwars had the habit of describing the benefits (Phalasruthi) that one can derive out of them. The tradition is there so that we can enjoy the same bliss that the azhwars enjoyed.

The azhwar describes Tirumala as the sacred hills depicting the boundary of TamilNadu and is cool in nature. Today people from hot areas go to Ooty , Kodaikanal, Darjeeling or to foreign lands that enjoy a cool climate. But these places can only cool the body but will not provide any comfort to the soul. But unlike these places, chilness in Tirumala not only comforts the body but also cools the soul as well. Generally what ever comforts the body need not comfort the soul, Tirumala enjoys this unique combination of cooling down the body and the soul. Kulasekara azhwars excels in both bhakti and in warfare. Generally if one excels in bhakti he might not excel in wordly affairs and viceversa but Kulasekar azhwar excels in both spheres.
The azhwar declares that anybody who realises the true meaning of the ten songs will be declared a truly realized bhaktha. This means that we can attain a permanent state where we stay as Lord's child and His treasure. In other words, reading these songs will result in Lord Himself being pleased and accepting us as His child. Hence those beings who perfectly understand these songs will be declared as bhakthas whom the Lord Himself would claim ownership of them. Food, fruits have to be in a certain consistent state to be consumed and so do young people who are waiting to get married.. Similarly those who recite these divine songs will attain that mature elevated to the state to be declared a complete bhakta.
Thus far we enjoyed the eleven songs (Perumal Thirumozhi) of Kulasekar azhwar and in coming months we shall enjoy more of the azhwar's songs(pasurams). With out any doubts, the recitiation and continuous recollection of these songs can make one progress in the path of bhakti .

Bhagawan takes avatar in each and every yuga mainly to safeguard the bhaktas and then to destroy the rakshasaas who trouble his bhaktas. So Bhagawan comes to this bhoomi from paramapadham just for the sake of his bhaktas. Hence we come to know that bhaktas are very important to the Lord. Whenever Bhagawan comes to rescue his bhaktas, the other fellow people also reap the benefits.........Our guruji amma gives high respect to all the bhaktas. Hence our Vedhanaadham's every issue will be dedicated to one bhakta. This issue we are dedicating to
