Wishing all our readers a very happy new year.

2. Mahatmas - New Bhaktacharitras Each Month

India is the holy land with so many bhaktas (devotees). When we go through the Indian history, there must be a bhakta in every period. That is the greatness of this sacred land. Bhaktas are the role model for all the bonded souls. They enjoy their life in a perfect way. Bhaktas surrender themselves to the Lotus feet of Lord. By hearing or reading bhaktas' divine story, the bonded soul is enlightened to come out of the worldwide bondages.

Radhekrishna! Sincere chanting and listening to the great stories of devotees will surely give a peace of mind to everybody, even in this 21st century. So many people think that listening to the devotee's stories is a waste of time and there is no benefit at all. If somebody wants to realize the power of bagawan, first of all they must listen bhaktha charithram [stories of devotees]. There are so many advantages in listening to baktha charithram.

Bharath is a very special land and contained within it are sacred places and rivers. Devotees born in this sacred Bharath ensure that they propagate bhakti in all corners of the country. This is the precise reason why the fragrance of bhakti can be felt all around our country.

Guruji amma has a special reverence for Meera and in the coming issues, we will enjoy Meera's bhakthi and devoution

Meera enters the mandap where Giridhara Gopala is standing with twisted hips and crossed legs. Although this is the most common pose of Lord Krishna to have the right leg folded below the left, our Lord Vedhanadha, beloved by Guruji Amma is very special as He has his left leg folded! Every Krishna has His own speciality and Vedhanadhan is really special to all of us. Giridhara Gopala is posing in such a way it is attracting Meera towards Him. Meera in turn is spellbound by Giridhara Gopala's features and the Lord too in turn is full of happiness. The speciality of Lord Krishna is that if there is a gathering of female devotees, he will be beaming with joy and this can be observed in all temples. He exhibits different smiles for male devotees, ascetics and even atheists who come to worship Him.

Giridhara Gopla face is a reflection of the pleasant moon light that comes through. All the devas are amazed by the bhakthi exhibited by Meera. Meera in turn took posession of Giridhara Gopala and implicitly she had assumed ownership of the Lord. This should be exhibited by all the humans and the moment they claim ownership of their Krishna they will emerge victorious. Meera secretly admires the Lord and bhakthi has to be kept secret like married relationships and then alone it will stay on for ever. Meera is cuddling the Lord and asking Him if she can adorn his hair with a variety of flowers much in the same way azhwars request the Lord. She also recommends Giridhara Gopala to wear yellow robes as it will suit His black complexion.

Meera is obvlious of the happenings around her and this how we must be. We should not be disturbed by the happenings around us and the comments and behaviour of humans. Desikar explains this very beautifully. If cows and deers are feeding on grass and if we try to place golden bars on top of the grass, the tendency of the animals would be to push the gold and feed on the grass. But a king would take the gold and would not be worried about the grass below it. Similarly we should enjoy the Lord like gold and should not care about who is doing what or worry about their actions and level of bhakthi exhibited by them. If we take care of our bhakthi alone with our surveying others we will come out unharmed. After the break , the mahatmas come back to start their bhajans and are surprised to find that the idol of Giridhara Gopala is missing.

Tirumangai Azhwar

Rai dasar is worried that the Lord has gone to a place where better bhajans are being held. Like how Lord Vittal, during ashad ekadeshi ,invited Namadevar and Gnaneswar to visit Koormadasar when everybody was trying to pay a visit to Vittal. The Lord is attracted towards those who intensity of bhakthi is the most. It is seen even in Bhagawadam that Yudhistra and others are asking the Lord that despite the presence of everyone that the Lord is showing signs of indifference. Krishna explains that his mind has been captured by Bheeshma who is constantly enagaged in His thought. We should do such a bhakthi that the Lord's mind should be enaged in our thoughts like how Krishna in his last days was thinking about Vithura. We should leave this world in such a way that the Lord would remember us as His bhaktha. Even if we had not done a great level of bhakthi and while the departure of life if the Lord stamps us as His bhaktha then it is considered that we have attained His endless grace. Ajamilan did not do bhakthi during his life time but at the time of death he did mention Narayana and the Lord was pleased by his action.

Rai dasar is very concerned that his level of bhakthi is not pleasing the Lord and hence he has gone missing. Every day we should start afresh in such a way that we are starting bhakthi as if the first day. This is because every day is considered a new beginning as sleep is as close to death as it can get. The only difference between sleep and death is that in sleep the soul returns to the same body and in death the soul acquires a new body. Rai dasar is getting by the minute as he is unable to locate the Lord. Namasangeertham or chanting of the name of the Lord alone will bring the Lord towards as. Even Radhika Rani confirms this when Krishna disappears from the gopis. She asserts that if we chant then we will turn into magnets which will automatically attract the iron , Lord Krishna. Rai dasar begins his bhajans with the intention of locating the Lord and he manages to trace Him along with Meera.

RadheKrishna to be continued...

3. Krishnam Vande Jagadhgurum - Extracts From The Holy Bhagawath Geetha

Radhekrishna.Hinduism is an ancient religion. All the things that have been spoken in Hindu religion can be applied in practical life. Although in 21st century till everyone can apply this in his or her daily life. The aim of Hindu religion is to provide total happiness to everyone at all times (or any point of time). The essence of Hinduism is told in "Bhagawad Gita". In order to realize what is said in Bhagawad Gita it is a compulsory (must) to have an unconditional faith on Bhagawad Gita. So many people have benefited in their lives because of the (by reading) shlokas of Bhagawad Gita. In Bhagawad Gita, Bhagawan Shri Krishna has told the way to lead a happy life in such an easy way that even a normal layman can easily understand. The slokas are so simple that anyone can understand and use it practically.

6. Samarpanam

parithraanaaya sadhoonaam vinasaya cha dhushkrutham

dharma sansthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge

Bhagawan takes avatar in each and every yuga mainly to safeguard the bhaktas and then to destroy the rakshasaas who trouble his bhaktas. So Bhagawan comes to this bhoomi from paramapadham just for the sake of his bhaktas. Hence we come to know that bhaktas are very important to the Lord. Whenever Bhagawan comes to rescue his bhaktas, the other fellow people also reap the benefits.........Our guruji amma gives high respect to all the bhaktas. Hence our Vedhanaadham's every issue will be dedicated to one bhakta. This issue we are dedicating to the one of the great eternal devotees of the Lord namely - 'Naradar'

The great sage regarded as Triloka Sanchaari is considered to be the Manasaputra of Brahma (Created by the mind of Brahma)
The great soul who in his previous birth was born as a maid's son and at the age of five had a glimpse of the Lord whilst doing penance in the forest. The Lord proclaimed through his voice that he will enjoy Him completely in his next birth and hence came to be born as sage Naradar.
The great scholar and true bhaktha has an important place in the vaishnava tradition and is listed as one of the tweleve Mahajanas or 'great devotees of God'
The great bhaktha who expounded the art of bhakthi yoga and the treatise came to be known as Narada Bhakthi Sutram
The great soul who is also accredited with writing the Gandharvaveda a treatise on dance, music and theatre.
The great guru who transformed Ratnakar to Sage Valmiki , who was ultimately responsible for writing Ramayana
The great bhaktha who advised Vedha vyasa, whilst he was confused and not satisfied after all his achievements, to write Bhagawadam to attain lasting inner peace
The great teacher and bhaktha who gave mantra upedhasha or spiritual guidance child Druva and child Prahalada to help them attain salvation and realization of God.
The great guru who gave Gnaana Upadesam or 'Exposition of Knowledge' to King Chitrakethu and also helped Praacheena Barhishith to attain a good state by means of his preachings.
The eternal sage who expounded the importance and greatness of 'Hari NamaSangeertanam' or chanting of the names of the Lord by constantly chanting 'Narayana Narayana'
